This policy explains what personal data FRCEM Mentor collects, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It covers both the website at frcementor.com and the FRCEM Mentor mobile app.

What we collect
We collect only what we need to run the question bank and your account.
- Account details — your email address and an encrypted password, handled by our authentication provider.
- Subscription status — whether your subscription is active, the plan you chose, and when it renews or expires.
- Study activity — which questions you have attempted, the answers you selected, whether they were correct, questions you have saved, and your mock exam results. This is what powers your dashboard and progress statistics.
- Things you send us — problem reports about a question, coaching enquiries, and any feedback you submit, together with the email address attached to your account.
We do not collect your location, we do not build advertising profiles, and the mobile app contains no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
How we use it
- To give you access to the question bank and keep you signed in.
- To check that your subscription is active.
- To record your progress so your dashboard, statistics and saved questions work across your devices.
- To investigate and fix problems you report with a question.
- To reply to coaching enquiries and support messages.
- To keep the service secure and to fix faults.
Our legal bases are performance of our contract with you (providing the service you have paid for), our legitimate interests (keeping the service working and secure), and your consent where you choose to contact us.
Payments
Subscriptions are taken on the website and processed by Stripe. Card details go directly to Stripe — they are never sent to or stored on our servers. We receive only the outcome of the payment and your subscription status. Stripe processes your data under its own privacy policy.
The mobile app does not sell subscriptions. It only checks whether the account you sign in with already has an active subscription.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for advertising. We use a small number of processors to run the service:
- Supabase — hosts our database and handles authentication.
- Vercel — hosts the website and provides aggregate, privacy-friendly traffic analytics.
- Stripe — processes subscription payments.
- Resend — delivers transactional email, such as forwarding a problem report or a coaching enquiry to us.
We may also disclose data where we are legally required to do so. Some of these providers operate outside the UK and EEA; where that happens, transfers are covered by the providers' standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and study history for as long as your account exists, so that your progress is still there when you come back. If you ask us to delete your account we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep records for legal or accounting reasons — payment records are kept for six years to meet UK tax requirements.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access a copy of your data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have your data deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive your data in a portable format.
Email hello@frcementor.com and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored in access-controlled databases with row-level security, so one account cannot read another account's data. In the mobile app, your sign-in token is stored in the device's secure keychain rather than in ordinary app storage.
Cookies and similar technologies
The website uses cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in. We use Vercel Analytics for aggregate visitor statistics; it does not use cookies to track individuals across sites. We do not run advertising cookies.
Children
FRCEM Mentor is intended for doctors preparing for the FRCEM Final examination and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, tell you by email.
